Mama Mamie's Departure

Mama Mamie may have departed but there's no time for tears as her two daughters and her daughter-in-law hilariously prepare for her funeral. This dark comedy about family, set in South Carolina, touches on human emotion in time of crisis.

"The story, much like a well-made koosa -- meat-filled squash -- is stuffed with witty dialogue and wacky characters of Lebanese ancestry who settled a few generations ago in a small South Carolina coastal town....Rasheed's characters sojourn on their Woody Allen-esque turf in search of self and each other engaged in hilarious dialogue textured with Arabic words....sidesplitting comedy...for most of its two hours."
